Despite its many plus points, some guests mention that the building's exterior could use a facelift. While the inside boasts warmth and charm, they believe the first impression can be misleading. Occasionally, service can be slow during peak hours, especially on busy weekends, leading to longer wait times. A few diners find that certain dishes may vary in quality based on kitchen activity, which can detract from an otherwise great experience. Furthermore, the limited menu options may not cater to everyone’s preferences, particularly for those seeking more eclectic dishes.
Absolutely amazing! We stopped by here after a walk along the aqueduct and I’m so glad we did. The food was really delicious, especially the fish. Best I’ve ever had for sure, my fiancé doesn’t really like fish and he loved this one when trying mine. He actually ended up eating half of it because it was so good 😂 The service was so welcoming and friendly, nice atmosphere. Gorgeous views too, you cannot go wrong coming here. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch it really made our day. We came here on a Thursday at around 2pm. Nice and quiet and plenty of seating available.
What a fantastic pit stop! The Aqueduct Inn is an absolute gem for hungry travelers, especially if you’re exploring the stunning Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We stopped in for a bite and were blown away—not just by the food, but by the jaw-dropping view! My husband went for the double cheeseburger and it hit the spot—juicy, cheesy, and delicious. My son and I shared a pepperoni pizza and wow, this thing was HUGE! Definitely not a solo mission—bring a friend or come hungry. Crispy crust, generous toppings, and loads of melty cheese. Perfect combo. But the real showstopper? That GORGEOUS view of the world-famous aqueduct. It’s like eating lunch with a postcard in front of you. Honestly, it’s STELLAR. Great food, friendly staff, and a view you’ll never forget. Don’t miss this spot—it’s a slice of local flavor with a side of UNESCO heritage magic
Beautiful food and service beside an outstanding view. We had the lamb chops, fillet steak and scampi as our mains. The food was perfectly cooked and served with a smile. A good selection of delicious ales are provided. We enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble for pudding. The exterior of the building is a bit run down but the inside dining experience with a fire and views over the valley was simply stunning. Will be visiting again.
Look, from the outside this pub does not look that inviting. However, when you go in first impressions are shown to be wrong. There are different rooms as well as a wonderful balcony outside. There were 3 great guest ales. A really extensive menu and wonderful, friendly service. We had sea bass fillet which looked and tasted wonderfull it I had 2 huge lamb chops. Cooked pink with a potatoes and garlic bake. This was just gorgeous. An excellent end to our Aquaduct walk. Just go!!!
Sat outside overlooking the canal, a couple of drinks and 2 main course meals, very nice.👍😋
It is well worth the short but steep walk from the canal up to the Aqueduct Inn. It was quiet when we arrived just after 12:00 and we were greeted and seated immediately with an amazing view! The place has a lovely atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome by our host. We had 4 different meals and each was outstanding, fresh, piping hot and full of flavour! Thank you so much 😃
Lovely meal here although I forgot to take pictures of the mains lol! Great selection of drinks including gins, rum, whiskey and beers. Highly recommended Follow Daddyslittlelunchbox on socials
